Aiden Robert Langkamp

I thought I would share the story since it was kinda funny how we chose the name....

After a weekend of arguing over names we decided to put three names in one of Brads hats and use which ever name that got to 3 out of 5 first. We both put our favorite names in and then picked a name that we both like for the third name. We put in Carter, Aiden and Braxton. Everyone who knows me well knows that I am pretty anal about most things and I couldn't stand to not have a name picked out for our baby since we know what we are having....most likely.

We shook the names up every time before we drew a name. I drew 3 times and Brad drew once, every single time we drew it was Aiden. After we drew Aiden 3 times in a row I said ok lets do the best 4 out of 7 and we drew Aiden again on the 4th draw. It was actually pretty funny even though it's not my favorite name I really kinda felt like God was trying to tell me something :). I do like Aiden I just like the others better but it has grown on me and I'm sure it will fit our baby well! Aiden means little fire so that made Brad like it even more.

Ever since I thought about wanting to have my own kids I have always wanted a little girl but through everything we have been through God has definitely shown me a new light and taught me to be thankful for everything even the little things. I am getting more and more excited about having this little boy. I know I will love him to pieces, he is our miracle from God and that I will never take for granted.

It's a boy!

Since Dr. Starks told us that 70 percent of IVF babies are boys we were kinda leaning towards a boy but this weekend my uncle increased that to 90 percent. It was such an amazing experience, too bad my uncle lives 4 hours away or I might go back for another u/s. We got to see the baby for like 10 minutes. My uncle went back and forth first he said it was a boy and then he said it could be a girl but after seeing our baby spread it's legs we all were thinking more a boy. It's so little still it was kinda hard to tell but my uncle said he would feel comfortable with us buying boy things. We aren't going to register or anything until our u/s on March 17th just to be sure but I will for sure be getting some newborn outfits!! The baby was so active, he was kicking his feet and moving his arms, almost like he was waving at us. It just seems so much more real when you can see the baby. I have never really thought u/s pics are very clear until I have gotten some of my own baby, it's like everytime I can point out exactly what is in the pic. I feel very lucky to have gotten to see my baby for that long it was awesome and made me even more anxious to meet the little guy.

We have been struggling with names, we have a girl name we both agree on but we cannot agree on anything for boy names. I said maybe we could put his fav name and my fav name in a cup and draw one out and use that name but Brad said he won't cuz he hates the name I like. Makes me kinda sad but we have 5 months and another u/s just to be certain. I want to start decorating the nursey but Brad said we should probably wait on our next u/s before we start spending a lot of money just for some reassurance. The one we have on March 17th is done by someone who is an u/s expert my ob doesn't do it so they should be right on, plus the baby will be bigger. I would be very surprised if it changed though so at least for now until we have a name I can say him/he :).

Crib and Dresser

Here is the crib and dresser that we ordered today. We should get them in the next 2-3 weeks, I am getting really excited!! I tried to get a bigger pic of the dresser but it wouldn't let me copy the big one for some reason so it looks small compared to the crib pic I have. I am keeping my fingers cross that we find out what we are having this weekend cuz I already have the bedding picked out for boy or girl and I want to start decorating.

Week 15: Naval Orange

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

It was a great week for me this past week, I have had a lot more energy and work was less stressful which is always a good thing. I will post another pic next week since I will be at four months but I have definitely noticed a little more of a baby bump developing. I can't believe I am almost four months already, I am so ready to start feeling the baby kick.

I'm going to brag on my husband a little bit more! He's pretty good at being romantic which is a good thing since I love romance and it doesn't have to be big things I am happy with the small thoughtful things. Anyways, yesterday morning Brad woke me up at a little before 5 o'clock saying that he fixed me breakfast. I wake up at 5 everyday so he knows that if he ever is going to fix me breakfast it's either going to be on a weekend or very early in the morning since I have to be at work at 630. It was so sweet I was really surprised that he woke up at like 430 to fix me biscuits and gravy and eggs. After we got done eating he said, "don't worry about the dishes I will do them so you can get ready for work." We had a really good time talking and spending some of our morning together. I know kinda sappy but it was sweet.

Today was kind of disappointing we went out to Nebraska Furniture Mart to buy our baby furniture and they did not have a very big selection and it was really overpriced. We didn't see anything that really grabbed our attention enough to buy it. We went to a few other places but we didn't have any luck. I have been looking on-line and we found a crib and dresser we really like at Wal-mart but I'm one of those sleep on everything for a night before I buy it so I refrained from being impulsive. You would think Wal-mart would be cheaper right....not, of course the set I like is like one of the most expensive they have, which is still comparable to the others we were looking at today but it's still hard letting that much money go. I don't really know what a good amount to spend on baby furniture is? Some people spend a lot and some don't I was hoping to be in the middle. We'll see I will post some pics when we buy it!

Week 14: Lemon

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

We got some things done this weekend that we wanted to do before the baby was born so it was nice to have one of the many things we want to do done and off the list. We got a rocking chair this weekend that my grandma had so I'm pretty excited about that. Its a nice one but I want to get a brown crib and brown bedding so I told Brad we (him) need to paint it. Other than that I am pretty boring right now. We are looking forward to the next couple weekends and hopefully being able to call the baby a him/her soon.

Oh ya Congrats to my sis who is pregnant with her second baby! She is due in October again the baby will be exactly two years apart from Kelsie. We are excited that our babies will only be two months apart it will be fun for them to grow up together. Hopefully we will have the same sex but if not they will still have fun!

Our first OB appointment

Yesterdays appointment went great! I was really tired and not feeling good pretty much the whole day so leaving work and heading to my appointment was a big relief. We both like Dr. Chang a lot, he spent a lot time with us and was more than willing to answer every question we had. We both got to hear the heartbeat and it was amazing, I think our connection as a couple got even stronger if that's possible. Brad recorded the heartbeat on his phone, the doctor was really nice about it he let us hear the heartbeat for a long time. Dr Chang said, "I can tell this is your first baby, you guys could be happy listening to the heartbeat all day." lol

I am delivering the baby at Saint Luke's East in Lee's Summit and the doc said that he would induce me after 39 weeks if I wanted to. He said about 50 percent of girls get induced and that its totally up to me, unless of course I have to for medical reasons. I don't know what I am going to do yet, the only reason I am leaning towards maybe being induced is because my doctor will for sure deliver the baby and if I go into labor on my own I might just get whoever is on call. I have awhile to think about it so well see what happens.

The bad thing about the doctors office was that we had to wait an hour before the Doctor even saw us. When we finally got to see the doctor we both realized why we had to wait so long, he takes a long time with all his patients and never makes you feel like he is rushing to get out. I can make all my appointments in the afternoons so I don't have to worry about watching the clock and rushing back to work. I go back March 3rd for my next appointment and then March 17th we "officially" find out what the baby is, if we already know it will still be awesome to see the baby again. We are very excited!!

The bad part about yesterday was the I still did not feel good when I got home so I took my temp and it was 100.3. I pretty much slept from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am when I had to get up for work. Brad made me chicken noodle soup and a grilled cheese and woke me up to eat so I would not go all night without eating. It was very sweet of him, I have been craving grilled cheese so it tasted really good! He has been taking good care of me, sometimes I think I don't deserve him but I am very thankful I have him. I'm not gonna lie though I do like this extra pampering. :)

I thank God every morning for blessing us with this miracle, going through this process is amazing and I could not imagine going through it with anyone but Brad. I have already starting praying many good things for this baby!

Week 13: Peach

Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords... savor this, their non-functional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. (Much more convenient.)

So are the second trimester has been great for me! Brad said that he can see a big difference in how much more energy I have now, instead of napping as soon as I get home from work I actually cook dinner again. I still nap sometimes but I usually am in bed no later than 9 every night and this weekend I actually stayed up until 11. Everyone says that second trimester is the easiest so I am enjoying it. I am starting to feel fat though, I feel like I am in that in between stage where I don't look pregnant but my clothes are starting to get uncomfortable. I am trying not to buy to much right now cuz I know that will change soon but its hard

We have our first meeting with Dr. Chang our regular OB this Tuesday so we are pretty excited about that. I feel like I haven't heard or seen our baby in a long time! I have a few questions for him so hopefully I can remember them all and not forget once I hear the baby's heartbeat. I get so excited about the baby I forget to ask my questions. :)

Two weeks until we go pick out our baby furniture and three weeks from this past Friday that we can hopefully find out the sex. We are going to Oklahoma the weekend of the 20th and I will be 16 weeks so we are crossing our fingers that my uncle will be able to tell us the sex. If it's to early at least we will be able to see the baby an extra time for free, can't beat that!

I took a few belly pics for every month, nothing to big yet but I thought I would share them.....
