30 weeks

Weeks 29-32 (Month 7): Squash

Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system

I finally made it to the thirties, how exciting!! Its gone by pretty fast so I am hoping these last couple months are the same way. We have gotten so much ready if she comes early we will be prepared!! I have gotten back to feeling better this past week so that has helped my sleeping some. I am starting to be a little more uncomfortable but not to bad I am trying to exercise some, I think it will help me.

She is moving more consistently now, Friday night she was moving for like 30-45 minutes straight so Brad and I muted the T.V. and sang songs to her. Kinda cheesy I know but it was sweet we had fun and I think she liked it :).

I have a doctors appointment this Tuesday and a shower coming up Saturday, still lots to look forward to. I'm trying to enjoy these last couple months with just Brad and I but its so hard not to wish she would be here with us.

29 Weeks and my First Baby Shower

My shower was so much fun, I got so many great things!! I had a pretty good turn out and everything was set up so cute. The food was good and I had tons of presents to go through. I was so excited for my shower, I just felt like it was all so surreal. It was finally for me, celebrating my baby!! I have the best church family ever and they made everything so special. I don't think I would've made it w/o the support and prayers of all my church family. I got so many cute things and I got a few of my big things too that Brad has already put together for Lexi. :) We got the stroller, infant car seat, swing and her play gym. We got lots of other stuff too but I won't name them all. I did stay up until 1100 organizing her room and everything I got from the shower, I was too excited to go to bed. Her room is filling up fast that's for sure!!

My week started a little rough my sinuses were really acting up and I was really miserable all day Monday and Tuesday. I actually had to break my tradition of not turning the air conditioning on until June and turn it on this past week. I turned it on Monday night so I could breathe and sleep a little better and it has helped. Brad was pretty happy about it too. I had a doctors appointment Tuesday so I was glad to finally be getting a chance to get some antibiotics to help me feel better. I called the nurse Monday and she told me a bunch of over the counter stuff I could take so our medicine cabinet is pretty full right now but unfortunately none of it really helped. I was so stressed on Tuesday because my appointment wasn't until 415 so I was just trying to get through the day at work. When I finally got to my appointment I ended up not even seeing my doctor until 530 and I didn't leave until 600. I was not happy at all, I had a little break down but since I have such an awesome husband he made my night a little better. My doc prescribed me a z-pac so Brad dropped that off and then came home and cooked dinner for us. After he was done cooking I ate and he went and picked up my medicine so I could start taking it asap. Then he came home ate and did the dishes. He can be so great, I love him. :) I didn't sleep very well that night either so he got up and got me some water and medicine in the middle of the night. I am feeling a lot better now that I have been on my meds for 4 days, being a sick pregnant woman is not fun. I'm not complaing though I have had a pretty great pregnancy thus far. Only 10 maybe 11 weeks to go until Lexi will be in my arms.

I am so glad to finally have an extra day off work, I love memorial day. We are just relaxing this weekend and having fun with our baby stuff and getting some things ready. We are going to my moms on memorial day and having some good grilled food. Brads cousin had her baby girl today her name is Kylie Jo and she weighs 8lbs 6ounces. I'm hoping she brings her to my shower in a couple weeks but I would completely understand if she didn't! Its a little soon after the baby is born so we'll see.

In the next few weeks I will be posting some nursery and more shower pics and hopefully my bigger belly. :)

28 Weeks ( 7 Months)

I am proud of my 28 week belly!! It's fun when everyone that sees me knows I'm pregnant. I still have a few people that say I am not very big but for me I'm feeling pretty big! :)

This past week was so busy at work I had my glucose test Friday which I haven't heard any results from yet. My boss let me make up the time I missed so I was pretty much worn out last week from working 9 1/2 hrs almost every day, lame I know but at the end of the day I was pooped out. The baby is taking a lot more of my energy these days. It was nice leaving work at 8 am and starting my weekend early Friday but I felt like I was going to pass out when I left the doctor's office. I got to the doc at like 825 and they drew my blood and then gave me the glucose sugar to drink and drew my blood every hour for three hours so they drew my blood 4 times and I didn't leave the office until close to noon. I was starving!! My mom took me to my fav restaurant (Olive Garden) and it was really good, I ate four bread sticks, lots of salad and then I barely ate any of my meal cuz I was so full from the bread.

Friday night I started feeling sick and I had a slight temp of 99.1, just enough to make me feel like crap. Saturday and Sunday I had a runny nose and headache pretty much all day. I took some Tylenol cold but it didn't help and I wasn't sure what else I could take so I just made it through. Today I called the nurse and she said I could have Claritin and Afrin so I have been much better since I used the nasal spray. I am hoping its just allergies/cold and nothing serious. I have a doc appointment tomorrow at 415 so if I am not better by then I'm sure my doc will give me something.

This month is going by so fast I can't believe my first shower is this Thursday at my church and then my family/friends one is two weeks from this Saturday. I'm so excited!! I can't wait to start putting together some of her things. Her nursery is coming along great. It is almost completed and it looks really cute, I am waiting on some stickers I ordered and I am going to buy a big pic frame to put above our rocking chair so we can put a big pic of her in it when she gets here. All the pictures I ordered for her room we already have and they are all hung up so as soon as I get the stickers I will take some pics and post them.

This past Thursday night I went to a bow party and I went a little crazy on how many bows I got for her. It was so fun and the bows are all so neat, I took a bunch of outfits to match and their were so many cute ones to choose from for all the outfits I brought. I think I got around 15 bows and then I bought 4 headbands so I can clip the bows on them until she gets some hair I can clip them to. My sis is going to have a bow party this summer and I am thinking about having one in the fall after Lexi gets here so I can know if she has hair or not. It's so much fun, I'm so glad I am getting to experience all this. God has blessed us beyond measure and I can't wait to meet my precious little girl. I will cherish her forever!!

27 weeks and her 3D 4D pics

I am so glad its finally the weekend!! We have been so busy this week, we had a Evangelist speaker at our church every night this week Sunday-Friday so we didn't get home every night until 930 or later. He was very good and I love listening to him its just not as easy for me to function if I don't get a good nights sleep these days. He is coming back Sept 6th. I am way excited for that Lexi will be here and I will be on maternity leave so I won't have to work, how great!

I have to admit I was a little disappointed about the 3D 4D sono we had. She started out with her had over her face and it took awhile for her to move so most of the pics are just of her face and us trying to get her to move around. If you look close a lot of the pics are labeled so if you can't make them out it should help! She now weights 2 lbs 3 ounces. One of my favs is the one where she looks like she is sucking her thumb and I like the one where its her profile and shes sleeping, she looks so peaceful. I have had a handful of people tell me she looks like Brad from the pics....I am not so sure about that, how can you really tell? Time is moving quickly I know she will be here soon and I am so ready. I can't even imagine how that moment will be or how I will feel when I see her for the first time, its makes me cry just thinking about it. She has and will definitely be worth the wait. I can't wait to dedicate her at my church and give her back to the Lord, I thank him every day for giving her to us.

We did find out some bad news at my doc appointments this past week. I had to do my Glucose test and it came back abnormal so I have to go back this next Friday the 15th and do a 3 hour screening. I have to fast and then drink the sugar stuff and get my blood drawn every hour for 3 hours. Not really looking forward to that one but I am hoping it comes back as nothing. My doc said a lot of girls come back abnormal on the first screening and then pass the 3 hour one. I don't want gestational diabetes thats for sure! I also found out the I am anemic so they put me on an iron supplement that I take daily now. My doc said it may make me constipated so if it does I can take colace. Welcome to the 3rd trimester!! :) As long as the baby is healthy I can deal with whatever I need to. On an exciting note they started my appointments every two weeks now so it seems even closer to her being here. I also have a couple showers coming up my church one is May 21st and my moms is June 6th so I am looking forward to those!!

I will post a new belly pic next week at 7 months, I have had quite a few people tell me this past week that you can definitely tell I am pregnant now.

Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

26 weeks

This past week was ok Brad went out of town to his grandparents to go hunting with his dad and I missed him....probably too much. I did have fun at my moms though, it was nice not having to cook and getting a little extra pampering from my momma. Other than that nothing big, tomorrow we have our 3D 4D u/s so I will be sure and post the pics and if the video is good I will have Brad put it on here. I also have my Glucose test tomorrow I have my 3D one at 2:00 and my reg doc appointment at 4:15 so lots of fun!

This is what the pregnancy calender website says about 26 weeks....

By this week, your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 9.2 inches. Remember, that is only from the top of his head to his bottom and does not include his leg measurements! Your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is beginning to put on weight. Your uterus is about 2.5 inches above your bellybutton and you will continue to grow approximately 1 cm each week. If you have been eating a well-balanced diet, you probably have gained about 16-22 pounds so far. Because your baby has moved further up, you may get occasional pain underneath your ribs. After a month of having his eyelids sealed shut, your baby begins to open his eyes again this week. Your baby's eyes are almost completely developed. Your baby's eyes are blue in the womb and may change colors later in life. This is true for all races because the pupils do not have their final color until a few months after birth. However, some babies are born with darker or lighter shades of blue. Your growing baby will continue to put on layers of fat until he is born. He is still lean at this point of the pregnancy though. By the time your baby is born, he will assume the typical newborn's plumpness. Your baby's skin will still be wrinkled and red, but the fat continues to fill the skin out.

Finger and toe nails continue to grow.

Blood vessels start to develop in the lungs to prepare the baby for life outside the uterus.

Your baby's blood circulation is completely functional. The umbilical cord system continues to grow and thicken as blood travels with considerable force through the body to nurture the baby. The placenta is now almost equal in size to the baby.

Even though it is still way too soon for your baby to be born yet, the chance of survival without severe abnormalities is now 70% provided it is born in a hospital.
