Week 12: Plum

As you move into the second trimester, baby shifts into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of baby's systems are fully formed.
I can't believe I am moving into the second trimester already! :) The first trimester has been awesome getting to see our baby twice and hearing the heartbeat. I can't wait to start feeling the baby kick and move around, I will probably start crying the first time he/she does. Six more months and I get to meet my baby.
I was just saying the other day how I hadn't gotten sick the whole first trimester and then just like that this past Tuesday night I started feeling sick. Mainly it was just my throat feeling pretty sore. I tried to ignore it and think that it was all in my head but Wednesday morning I woke up and my throat hurt worse and I started feeling congested. I ended up going to work Wednesday because I didn't want to call in and use any of my time that I am trying to save all for the baby (we don't have sick days at my work it's all called pto time, so it all comes out of the same bank). It was a miserable day at work I started coughing and my nose was running, I was ready for some meds by the end of the day. Thursday morning I conceded to the fact that I was sick and needed to go to the doctor so I called into work. To my surprise I didn't have strep throat my doc just said that my throat looked red and irritated and I definitely had some congestion. She did say she was glad that I came early instead of waiting for the infection to come. She prescribed me a z-pack and I am starting to feel a little better. I think the pregnancy might be making the recovery process a little slower but at least now I have the weekend to rest up. Brad has been amazing this week he has been cooking dinner and doing the dishes every night. Tonight he went to get us some Red Robin cuz I didn't want to get out and go anywhere and we are running a little low on groceries. I really am convinced that I have the best husband ever!!
Oh ya, I got to watch my niece today for a couple hours and we had a blast! My sis was at my house waiting for me to get home and when I pulled up Kelsie was reaching out for me to hold her I was so happy to finally be able to pick her up....I think she was too. :) We played for a little bit, shared some grapes and then took a nap together it was great getting to spend some time together again since I haven't watched her for almost four months now. I know she will be a great big cousin, I can't wait to see her with our baby....lets hope shes not jealous!
Allison, not to sure about Quentin I don't think I like that much! We do like the name Christian a lot but I think we are leaning more towards a couple other of our favorites....thanks Sheila! Thanks for thinking of us though, when we find out the sex and for sure agree on the name I will post it.

I could argue with you about which of us have a better husband, but instead I will just thank the Lord that they are both wonderful! I can't wait to see you hold your baby. It makes my heart melt just thinking about that moment. I know how amazing it feels and I am soooo excited you get to feel it oh so soon. Love ya!!!!
